Managing Director

Euan completed tertiary qualifications in IT and behavioural psychology (Bachelors and Masters), and initially pursued a career in behavioural psychology before deciding to switch to information technology.  His initial roles were in software development. He progressed to Applications Development Manager before joining Touche Ross & Co, an international firm of consultants and chartered accountants, in their consultancy division. Over the next many years, his core work included feasibility studies, tender management and strategic planning assignments for clients across the corporate and public sectors. In his final role with Touche Ross, he managed their Sydney IT Consulting Division.

Euan next joined Oracle Corporation, as their first National Consulting Manager in Australia, and was tasked with setting up and growing their software consulting and education business divisions. He then moved on to be a Director of a consulting firm that specialised in business and IT consulting to the mass transport and public sectors.

Euan then decided to expand his career, joining Morgan & Banks in the 90s, and was tasked with starting the technology consulting and IT executive contracting businesses. The Division soon expanded to become one of the major players in the Australasian marketplace, encompassing recruitment and contracting activities across both corporate and public sectors. Euan’s final role involved managing the delivery of IT recruitment services to all non IT vendor clients in NSW.

Euan then joined Hamilton James & Bruce as their Sydney based Manager Technology Recruitment in early 2003. He was promoted to National IT Segment Leader in 2005. While managing and growing the technology team, as with Morgan & Banks, he continued to place senior candidates in permanent line management and project-based roles, as well as senior interim/contracting roles, with both corporate and public sector clients.

In 2006 Euan set up Mackay Executive to consult and recruit at a senior level to both the corporate and public sectors. While providing consulting support to clients mainly in the areas of organisational structure and people management, Euan’s recruitment work is focused around client business needs, covering both corporate services and technology perspectives, and work here includes contract, interim, permanent and search assignments. Whilst taking into account both team and organisational factors, the aim always is to provide clients with the best available candidates in order to maximise their ability to achieve business goals.
